In June, 2018, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment launched a new round of inspections aimed at strengthening the prevention and control of air pollution. Compared to last year, the air quality in most regions of China has improved. As one of the key areas for air pollution prevention and control, the Pearl River Delta region has significantly improved its air quality this year. However, the air quality in the Fenwei Plain region has not increased but decreased, showing a rebound, replacing the Pearl River Delta as the key protection object for this year's strengthened supervision of air pollution prevention and control.
